What SAP HANA Cloud Is For, and What It Is Not
SAP HANA Cloud is SAP's managed database service on SAP BTP. It hosts side by side applications, analytics models and data from SAP and non SAP systems. It is not where your S/4HANA system database runs, and confusing the two is a common reason projects stall.
The usual advice is to load everything into memory for speed. That gets expensive fast. Our Hot Warm Cold Data Plan sorts data before migration. Hot data that drives live reports stays in memory. Warm data moves to Native Storage Extension on disk. Cold history goes to the HANA Cloud data lake, where it can still be queried.

Auditors usually ask the same three questions about SAP data, which are who can see it, who changed it and how it is protected. On SAP HANA Cloud we answer them as follows. We set up roles and privileges per schema, connect sign in to your identity provider, turn on audit logging for sensitive tables and use data masking where reports must not show personal data. Every environment gets a written access model, and our work follows the ISO 27001, SOC 2 and HIPAA controls shown below.
